Perishable Code Dating Process Kmart

I created the process to produce a daily reporting for all Kmart distribution centers to utilize the in-house data to identify perishable product received daily. The distribution center has 24 hours to update all the codes for product received that day.

When product was received it was set to have a default date of 12/31/2099 which was used to identify product that had not been researched to input the correct perishable code date into the WMS (warehouse management system).

The report was created in an Access database which pulled the data from all distribution centers using ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) driver connections.

Location, location type, location status (active or disabled), location type, (select/primary or reserve) location number, KSNPID (item number identification used in the system for the product), product division, product category, product description, current balance on hand and distribution center designation.

The associate would take the reporting to identify all locations that needed to be physically visited to determine what the actual perishable code was and then input that code date into the WMS system.

Reporting was published daily with details showing locations that has not been updated within the 24-hour update timeline. This exported into an Excel spreadsheet with separate tabs for each distribution center. The cover page showed the number of locations by distribution center which had been received, locations that had not been updated by location type (select/primary or reserve).
